Let’s Make A M.E.S.S.! (More eco smart students)
“Water” we doing? A Tickled Pink Party is going green! We are proud to announce “Let’s make a M.E.S.S.!” In each workshop, children will learn how their choices in everyday life can affect their ecological footprint. What is an ecological footprint? We’re glad you asked! It’s basically a symbol. Children understand that if they follow the same path, every single day, they will make a “trail” in the dirt. Their feet or “footprint” have caused the grass or dirt to be worn away leaving a path in the earth’s surface. In our workshops the children will learn that with an Ecological footprint, the more we consume and the more we throw out, the more natural resources we are using. Therefore, the larger our footprints grow. They will learn simple techniques in making smart choices to reduce the size of their footprint! The children will go through a series of questions, games and experiments based on their grade level. Teacher participation is encouraged. Each teacher will be provided a “Teacher Resources” guide. This will include a letter to parents introducing the workshop and fees associated. ($10.00 per child) If the teachers decide to continue the effort within their classrooms, we will offer tips for making small changes that can have a large effect on our environment!
Why have an in school workshop vs. a traditional field trip?
